The Grunt froze as the electricity seized his joints.
Fucking Thunder Wave. He had felt it several times before, training his Electrode. But no. He didn't even get to battle.
And to think, he was covering Frank's shift. Fucking prick. It wasn't his fault that Frank was too hungover to work.
Whatever. Maybe he could sue.
The grunt laid paralyzed, cursing in silence.

Giulia was livid. The Heat Wave rushed past her, and she dropped to the boardwalk along a canal. She had seen Aden riding his Arcanine in at least seven different directions under the beast's mirage.
Mew floated upside down in front of her, visibly distraught.
"It's ok," she told the Pokemon. "I lost him too."
"We can't give up," she smiled at her friend. "Let's find him!"
She grabbed hold of Togekiss, searching from the rooftops.

Aden was on his way away, and caught only a glimpse as Giulia ascended once more to the rooftops to search. That made it simple - keep things above him. He darted under awnings next to buildings, and pat his Arcanine on the neck.
"Let's see if she likes it bright up there - Sunny Day"
He spoke softly, almost a whisper. Flare's fur bristled again, and a quick burst of heat shot into the sky. The clouds were parting to make way for the sun to shine more directly on Fiume City. The fire-type gym leader reached into the pocket of his jeans and withdrew a pair of sunglasses, placing them on his face.

Olivia gave the hatch a quick rap. The air was growing thin. She could only remain in this spot for a few more seconds before she needed to get out of there and find another way in...

After Marcus's Thunder Wave round paralyzed the grunt, he rushed past the fallen person, lifting his arm over his face as he did so. He rounded the corner and turned into the canal hatch-room. He turned the steel wheel of the hatch, unlocking the mechanism, and opened it, revealing the canal water below. As he waited for Olivia to enter the room, assuming she was still waiting, Marcus hefted his Thunder-wave rifle at the entrance of the room, just in case. He wasn't letting one of those grunts take him by surprise.
He did afford a glance or two to check on Olivia, not especially worried. He had done his best to get here swiftly.

Giulia searched from the rooftops. Mew Teleported in front of her. It pointed, and Giulia shielded her eyes from the sun as she looked toward the coast.
"Come on, Togekiss! Let's find him!"

"Good job buddy"
Aden gave Flare a quick scratch behind the ears before leaning down and nudging the great dog toward the coast. He had a plan, hopefully it would work. The Arcanine turned a corner and was headed toward the main hub of the city. He would need as many people to witness whatever happened as possible.
It didn't take him long to get there, and when he arrived he stopped at the edge of the main canal. He hopped down, and placed a hand on Arcanine's mane.
People were starting to stare and notice just who it was that was racing through the city, calling friends, freaking out, and calling the police since Aden was a 'wanted' criminal.
"Give us a spotlight Flare, Morning Sun."
The Arcanine barked and a beam of light shined down from the bright sun onto the pokemon, creating a beacon that Giulia would easily be able to follow.

"Come on, kid," Olivia ordered after she clambered out of the hatch. "We gotta find out where-"
As she moved, she saw the Grunt passed out ahead. "Nice job," she gave a thumbs up to Marcus.
"Did you find security yet?"
She began searching the passed out grunt. "His uniform's gonna fit you better than it fits me."

Marcus shook his head. "I haven't. Guilia herself is chasing Aden from what I saw when I entered, though. If you hide your Pokemon and I fit into that uniform, that should get us a fair ways. After that, I'm sure we can deal with whoever else challenges us."
Marcus stripped the uniform off of the grunt. "Stuff him somewhere, will you? Don't want a shift change raising the alarm." He turned around and started changing on the spot, not wasting time for the sake of modesty. The Uniform was a bit short for him, but the gloves covered the shortness of the sleeves and the boots covered the shortness of the pants. A bit tight, but passable. He wore his Pokemon as the grunt did, and took the flashlight, and other accessories.
He turned around. "Ready," he said, before following a sign towards the stairwell. "I'm betting the stairwell is used less than the elevator."

Giulia was the bright Morning Sun. It was in the town square.
"Togekiss, that way!" She ordered, taking off for the plaza.
Aden and his Arcanine were in plain sight. She would wipe the smile from the smug gym leader's face.
"Ready to quit playing tag?" she yelled at him, when she arrived. "It's time you face justice."

"Let me ask you something, Ms. Rossi."
Aden's voice echoed over the canal, bouncing off the water and buildings quite well. Even more people were starting to gather round while the two had their 'discussion,'
"You seem to have an odd sense of justice. I suppose that yes, you are the Lialta Region's Champion and have beaten me a few times in battle. However, you seem to forget that I am the last gym leader before a trainer reaches the pinnacle of the league. My gym is the Pokemon Pantheon. I know the history, the myth, the legend. Humans and Pokemon do live in peace, and to my knowledge people that abuse the rules are arrested. Let me ask you this then, what have I done? You say I attacked you - and yet if I had you would be severely burned, regardless of whatever healing is available to you. Where are your witnesses?"
Aden was not smiling.
He was also stalling, though Giulia probably wouldn't realize that past her own insane ambitions.

Olivia donned the maintenance uniform over her wetsuit. It was less conspicuous, even if it was a big baggy.
"Check the front desk. See if you can find a lead about security," she told Marcus.
She counted her Pokemon. All six were ready.
"Come on kid, lets find Kurtis. We still don't know where any of the Elite Four are. We need to bust him out now."

Marcus nodded. He hurried up the stairs and walked out into a corner hallway on the ground floor that had a bathroom. He walked out of the hallway into the large open area where the front desk was located. He took a breath and mentally readied himself. I am Gary McGrunty, he thought. No one ever suspects someone named Gary.
He walked over to the front desk. The man there was busy daydreaming at their screen, and didn't notice him right away. Marcus spoke up anyway. "Hey. One of the other guards isn't feeling well and paged me to see if I could come in and take over for him. However, I think his videophone died and he didn't tell me what floor or room number, and I don't normally work his beat. Can you tell me where the high security holding-cells are?"
"The ones for holding trespassers until police arrive?" The man's tone was so dull and monotone it made Marcus want to fire him.
"Yes. Those."
"Seventh floor, end of the hall."
Marcus, aka Gary McGrunty, nodded and moved back to the stairwell where he expected to see Olivia waiting for him. Thank god, he thought, for lazy receptionists.
Behind him, the man at the front desk, who had just looked up long enough to see a glimpse of Marcus's face before he left, stared after him for a second.
"Didn't I just see a maintenance worker with that face?" He wondered. Then the question was more or less solved when the melancholy receptionist realized that he honestly didn't care enough to answer it. He went back to holding his fingers over ctrl+tab as he played a video game in his browser.

"Witnesses?!" Giulia was fuming, but she vented the frustration. "You called me to your gym. You attacked me, and my Pokemon defended me. Then you fled with one of yo-"
Giulia realized something. Someone. That woman. With Stricker.
Giulia's eye twitched.
"You are a monster! And I won't let you terrorize the world any more!"
She approached the gym leader. "This is your last chance. Surrender, Hayes."

"No, Ms. Rossi. You are the one who entered the Pantheon, and any record of communication between us before hand should be easily traced - or could be if there were any. You may have everyone in this city fooled, but once the people start thinking about what is going on here questions will be raised."
He and his Arcanine took a single, non-threatening step back away from her. Aden continued to question.
"Ms. Rossi, if I am the monster and the one to blame for whatever you say this is, then why did your sister attack Kurtis Ise and a few others, nearly killing a man by dropping him out of the sky in the process? I've no intention of fighting, but how can I surrender for something that I haven't done?"
