Giulia was glad to see Mr. Stricker disappear. The man was too strange for Giulia's liking, and if he wasn't so efficient, she would prefer to avoid the odd trainer.
Togekiss cooed again. Giulia's phone buzzed.
"Ma'am," Giulia heard her secretary's voice through the intercom. "Chief Ferro has arrived."
Giulia paused for a moment, sighing before she answered.
"Send him to the seventh floor lobby."
Giulia paced out of her office, Togekiss drifting in the air behind her.
"Hopefully Ferro can deal with the younger Hayes brother. I have a gym leader to deal with."
Giulia stopped, pulling her phone out. It's better to be safe, than sorry. She dialed a number quickly.
"Leif," she spoke without letting the man on the line respond, "I need you to ensure something for me."
"Ferro is taking Matthias Hayes into police custody in a few moments. I need you to ensure that he doesn't stray from that task."
Giulia ended the call. "That's something not even Leif can mess up," she hoped aloud to her Togekiss.
And with that, Giulia made her way to the seventh floor.

Ferro walked out of the elevator into the seventh floor lobby. He scowled at the well-coordinated planters and the well arranged furniture in the lobby. He scowled at the windows and the light coming through. He scowled at his very presence here, in haven corp.
Ferro scowled at Giulia most of all, however. He had been so angry this last while that he had nearly failed a police physical because of his high blood pressure.
"What do you want?" It was a question, but it was agressivly asked.

Giulia scowled at the man. Ferro hadn't taken to her encouragement well, but that could not be helped.
"1138 Rapidash Drive," she said once to the man. It was all the threat she needed.
"Come now," she escorted the police chief down the hall.
"I have one of your men, and, per our agreement, I need you to ensure he doesn't interfere."
They approached the end of the hallway, and entered a dark room, lined with cells.
"Officer Hayes? It's time for you to leave," she smiled wickedly.

"Look who it is!" Kurtis spoke from his cell.
"Afraid to give me a fair fight, coward?!"
The comments fell on deaf ears, but Kurtis felt better whenever he got to yell at his captor.
"Where are my Pokemon?!"
They continued ignoring him.

Gregorio paled when Rossi named the address. He swallowed, and continued scowling as he followed the woman down the hall to Hayes's cell. He gleefully envisioned placing something sharp between her shoulder blades, but very quickly this idea was castrated. She had him by the balls. Fuck.
Ferro stared at Hayes. Ferro looked obviously unhappy, and he channeled it into his normal aura of stick-in-the-ass, iron-fisted police chief. "Hayes, what the HELL have you gotten into?" he asked with a mix of exasperation and anger that he hoped would pass as impatience. "Nevermind. Let him out, Ms. Rossi; I'll sort this." He glared, both at Hayes and at Giulia. He tried very hard not to think about the OTHER man, shouting from another cell.

Matt had sat down in the corner of his cell. The champion had taken his pokemon from him, and hearing Kurtis's voice made the rookie officer wonder what in the hell was actually going on here. When approached, he stood as calmly as possible and walked to the door and waited for it to be opened. Seeing the chief here worried him slightly about who was involved with what, and though not very comfortable getting yelled at like that he stood with an expression as stoic as he could muster.
"I'd like my pokemon returned as well, please."
The request was not stern, if anything he was quite scared to even ask as much. He knew though, that he wasn't leaving without them. If he still had them he would have been gone out of here without much delay, but clearly Giulia Rossi had gone borderline insane with power.

Giulia sighed.
"Here, take these," she handed a set of Pokeballs to Chief Ferro. "Make sure he understands our arrangement before he gets those back."
Giulia turned to escort them from the prison block, and the building.

"Help me!" Kurtis shouted from his cell. He knew at least one of them was a police officer. "Help! This crazy woman kidnapped me! She has my Pokemon!"
The Ice-type trainer shouted, but soon he heard the door to the prison block close, and he knew he was alone once again.

"I'll need your lawyers to send the paperwork stating that that man is a willing inhabitant of that room," said Gregorio to Giulia. "Otherwise I'll have to ask you to release him. I need a signature, Giulia. Either he was playing a prank in there, or one of my captains will be sending some men with or without me."
Gregorio tasted copper in his mouth with those words. He held Matthias's Pokemon gently, and when the group reached the entrance he gave a final scowling nodd to Giulia.
Leading Matthias to his cop car, Gregorio handed the officer his Pokemon.
"I know this is a shitty situation, kid. I know it doesn't look much like justice." Greg sighed heavily. "But we can't do anything about Haven corp, you hear? Not as police. Giulia has the lawyers, the influence, the money. Fiume is more her city than the people's, because the people adore her; I've been fighting that for a long time, but the police serve the city. And Haven corp... Well. Half or more of Fiume works for Haven corp." The chief spat on the ground, clearly angry at the situation.
He got In the car and started the engine, waiting for Matthias to get in before driving back to the station.

Matt was silent as they left the building. The whole situation stank of something terrible, but he couldn't quite place what. He didn't know what Giulia was up to, and he didn't like it one bit. When they reached the car the rookie took his pokeballs and replaced them on his belt. He listened to what the chief had to say and closed his eyes before sitting down in the vehicle. He didn't do much but stare out the window. It wasn't until they actually started to leave the area he spoke.
"Chief... I don't mean to sound dumb or rude or anything... but what the hell is going on? I don't care if she's the champion or not, she's gone... something. I don't know if insane quite cuts it."
He paused.
"She's made my brother out to be this terrible person and I know she's wrong. What can we do?"

"Fuck you," Leif cussed after ensuring he had pressed end on his PokeGear.
"How dare that bitch send me like some errand boy."
Leif sat down on his moped.
He watched as Chief Ferro escorted the Hayes kid away.
"Should've used this kid for bait," he muttered, throwing on a helmet.
He followed the Chief's car at a distance.

Ferro gave Matthias's question some thought as he drove.
"Well, as an officer, the best you can do is a shitty job of catching Aden. In the eyes of the public, he's a criminal. Whether he is or not is up to a jury to decide. I was probably too willing to believe that Olivia was guilty..." Ferro sighed.
"As for our beloved champion... Damage control is the best I can advise."
Ferro paused, and a minute later, at a stoplight, he said,"I know this is personal for you, son. I can give you two weeks of paid vacation to get out of town and clear your head, and I'll understand if you use sick leave for this as well." He gave Matt a meaningful look when he said that. "Whatever you do, don't get caught interfering with Guilia. You hear me? I can't protect you if you get caught doing something about this as a private citizen." These words too were accompanied with a meaningful look.
"You understand, kid?"

Matt took a few moments to think on what he was being told.
"Yeah Chief, I get it."
The chief had used words like don't get caught and if you get caught. The message was pretty clear, but at the same time Matt knew that Aden wouldn't want him doing anything. His elder brother would tell him just go with the flow and do the job you do. The thought made him furrow his brow in a bit of frustration.

Lief followed the car, pouting beneath his green helmet.
Originally he had been following at a distance, being careful, but his impatience had overcome him, and now he was only a few meters behind the Chief.
They approached a busy roundabout, and Leif passed some of the cars. The Chief was already half way through, and Leif couldn't lose him.
Leif pressed on the accelerator pushing his moped forward quickly.
The moped jolted forward, into the roundabout, whipping through, after the chief.
Leif didn't see the large pedestrian until he was centimeters away.

He didn't hear Dragonite’s warning cry until it was too late. Suddenly, and for a brief moment, he had lost his wind and was on the ground.
Recovering quickly, his muscles absorbing the worst of the impact, he sprang to his feet.
“How dare you, sir!” Louis loomed over the man struggling to release his leg from beneath his moped, “You've ruined my shirt!”
Hoping to inspire the man to be a better citizen, Louis ripped off the dirty scuffed silk shirt, struck a muscle-ripplingly dramatic pose, and pointed down at the green-helmeted man. “Do you not follow the traffic laws in your own city!? Do you not know they are in place for everyone's safety?!”
He picked the moped up and set it to the side, then lifted the man up by his shirt. “What do you have to say for yourself, sir?!”
Chagrined, Dragonite picked up the discarded shirt...
