Ferro swore. He had just seen an accident happen in his rearview mirror. He hit his lights so that he could execute a U-turn more easily. "Did you see that? Some genius just nailed a pedestrian!"
Gregorio pulled over across the street from the incident and got out of his car. He leaned in to say to Matthias, "Get the scanner and ticket pad, kid."
Then Ferro crossed the street and called out as he did so, "SIR! Put that man down." When he got there, he looked at the crash victim to make sure the man wasn't bleeding anywhere. "Sir, have you been injured?" He had to ask in case there was pain or injury somewhere he couldn't see. Then he turned to his junior officer and asked, "Matthias, can you get the Moped driver's name, license, and registration? Then run his plates through the scanner. Thanks."
Then Ferro turned his attention back to the large victim of the incident.

It didn't take Matt long to do what was required. He stepped out of the vehicle and grabbed the pad. At least he was still in uniform.
He approached the moped driver with the pad at his side and kept a bit of a stoic expression on his face.
"License and registration please, sir."
At least he didn't have to deal with the rather large muscular brand of crazy that his boss had to.

"Oh, shit!" Leif realized what was happening. He recognized the large police officer and the other one. And that large muscular man. Who was he?
"Back up needed! Aden Hayes has been spotted in the city square. Champion Rossi in pursuit," the policemen's radios squawked.
Leif looked Matt in the eyes, and back at the muscular man.
"Go, Breloom," Leif reacted. "Spore!"
The Breloom let loose an eruption of green mist, and Leif returned the Pokemon. He started his scooter again, letting the mirror fall off its handlebars as he left the others behind in a Spore haze.

Gregorio immediately turned his attention from the victim at the first sign of hostile behavior behind him. He covered his breathing with a sleeve and backed out of the spore cloud, evading its lulling effects.
Ferro immediately started talking on his radio. "Captain Maria, I want you reinforcing the officers at the scene. CLEAR THE CROWD, you hear me? Get people away from Aden and Guilia, and set up a perimeter. I don't want to think what happens if she starts battling, so if you can let's get Aden before Guilia does. You hear me? WE get Aden. US. It's the only way to ensure fair trial and legal treatment, even if Guilia does get a custody waiver signed by the Gym leader. This is Fiume. This is not going to be like Taurinno, you hear? Aden WILL NOT be Kurtis." Radio speech over, Gregorio looked at Matthias, as a gruff older woman's voice responded over the radio, "On it Chief."
"Hayes, did you get anything on him? Recognize him at all? If he's got a priority warrant, like the Elite four or one of the Gym Leaders, you and I will chase. Otherwise we should go back to get started..." Gregorio sighed heavily, "on the police reports and paperwork."

It was a Leif was looking right into his eyes that Matt realized who this was. He was about to say something to Chief Ferro, but suddenly Breloom with a spore cloud. Luckily, his pokemon were well trained. Matt's Gardevoir, Morgana, popped out of her pokeball and threw a protect around her trainer to block out the spore. Leif had gotten away in the commotion and apparently the police were closing in on his brother. Without really thinking, he looked to his Gardevoir and issued a simple order.
"Get Aden out of there" he told her. Morgana nodded once and disappeared in a teleport.
He looked to Chief Ferro and pointed toward the running E4 member. "Chief! That's Leif Laurel!"
To give proper chase, he pulled another pokeball from his belt and loosed Gawain the Salamence and hopped up onto his neck. The dragon could match a scooter in speed, right?

Leif saw her in the sky.
"Great, there goes my back-up," Leif watched Lisa fly away, overhead, toward Haven Corp.
Leif decided to turn the opposite way, skirting through an ally and down several sidewalks, away from the roads of Fiume. Toward the coast, the roads stopped and the canals began.
"Fuck this," he spoke bitterly, against the sputtering of his scooter.
Finally deep enough into the city, and satisfied that he had gotten far enough away, Leif ditched his scooter on a rack full of them, dropping his green helmet on the handlebars.
He rushed into a hotel, grabbing a newspaper and taking a seat in back of the busy lobby, away from the street.
He opened the pages, smirking at the images of his allies in the Wanted page.

Distracted by the officers, Étienne was not quite quick enough to recall Dragonite before the spore cloud flowed over them. She disappeared into the pokéball as she slipped into unconsciousness. He caught the falling shirt out of the air and covered his face. In the time it took him to recover and turn, the man was on his moped and was halfway down the block. As Étienne tried to fathom what would cause the man to react in such a rash manner, he heard the officer's shout.
“Chief! That's Lief Laurel!”
The name hit him in the gut like an ice beam. This man could lead him to Stygian.
He was on Tiamat's back before the pokéball glow faded. Laurel would NOT be getting away.

"Leif... shit." Ferro grabbed a Pokeball off of his belt. "Let's fly! Take point on this, Hayes."
His Skarmory wasn't the fastest of fliers, especially not with him on her back. Nevertheless, he managed to keep Officer Hayes and the strange man who was also, for some reason, chasing the Elite Four member in sight. The flash of another trainer flying on a Pidgeot caught his attention, but Ferro knew that even if it was another Elite Four member, splitting up now would just mean neither bogey was caught. One thing at a time.
"Are we on him? Can you tell where he went or where we can cut him off?" Ferro radioed Matthias.

Luckily, Aden had already gone after the scooter. Gawain was a fast flyer, and kept up well even in the twists and turns of the city. He was not losing this one. If the Elite Four were all part of this crazy whatever it was that Giulia was heading up, he needed to be stopped. It was somewhat difficult to keep the man in sight with the other people, but the Salamence had locked onto the sound of the scooter. When it stopped, Matt had Gawain hover over it. Hearing Gregorio over the radio he called back.
"Chief, found the scooter, lost him. He's either on foot or laying low somewhere." He said over the radio as he jumped off of Salamence's back and recalled the dragon to his pokeball. He pulled another from his belt and called out a small orange puppy. "Percival, you've got some sniffing to do." The Growlithe barked as he was led over to the scooter and helmet. Matthias reached over to the culprit's scooter and grabbed the helmet, holding it out for Percival to get Leif's scent. The Growlithe sniffed and then turned his head to the ground, walking around to find it. Eventually, the Growlithe led Matt to the entrance of a nearby hotel and there he waited. "Outside a hotel - should I engage?" he asked over the radio, needing an answer quickly.

Leif lowered the newspaper. He heard sirens. And there, standing near the entrance, one of the carabinieri from before.
"God DAMN IT!" Leif dropped the newspaper.
He vacated his seat in a huff, storming toward one of the emergency exits.
The alarm sounded when he pressed on the door, and he peered into the alleyway.
"Looks like those pricks aren't here yet," he spat.
He dropped a Pokeball, releasing his Amoonguss.
"Bello, Sludge Bomb. I don't want anyone following us out this way."
The mushroom nodded, dousing the emergency exit in a toxic, slick ooze.
Leif returned his Pokemon, taking off down the alley.
He looked behind him, and ran straight into the street.
There, hovering above him was Etienne.
"Fuck!" Leif backed up a couple steps.
"Get out of my way!" He held a Pokeball in hand. "You want this to get ugly?"

Etienne jumps off his Charizard's back as she alights upon the ground.
"There is nothing ugly about bringing justice to one such as you!" His booming voice echoed down the alley behind Lief.
"I was looking to just settle this with a few questions, but if you insist we will settle this..." Etienne strikes a regal pose, flexing, "...WITH MUSCLE!"
Etienne accepts the challenge.
