I petition that you consider several Ghost-type and other such pokemon that may not necessarily be Flying-type or have levitate, but lorewise float, have wings, or possess some other reasonable ability to engage in aerial combat.

Please specify the Pokemon you want considered. The only one that I think you're probably petitioning is Chandelure, who has been disqualified because it doesn't have Levitate in-game, and these instances are limited in order to create game-balanced boss battles for players.

Eh, in my case it would be Chandelure, Bannette, Klefki, aaaand maybe Jellicent. (I'm still totally floating them for lore reasons) I was more trying to open the field to possibilities. Like Electross, haha. I was under the assumption you guys were trying to make the list reality/lore friendly.

While I am for Chandelure, there is an argument against it (read below). So don't get your hopes up on that one. I don't think that Banette, though a ghost type, can even fly. At least I can't recall a time when it did anywhere. And I do not know the limitations on Klefki and Jellicent in this regard. They can float, sure, but can they actually fly? This is also the argument against Chandelure, though I disagree with it.
As far as Eelektross goes, it only has levitate because it generates an electromagnetic field that allows it to float. I doubt it is powerful enough to keep it in the sky.

Oh, Bannette I just assumed would float because I always thought its old sprite looked like it did and it evolves from Shuppet. It initially seemed a little silly to me for something to become grounded by evolving, but it does seem to be standing in pretty much everything I see of it now. I've also always been of the opinion that a lot of pokemon lore needs to be forced or ignored to work, haha. I used to watch the show, but I'm by no means an expert about the mechanics and lore therein, so I'll follow whatever you moddy people decree. What's the big difference between Chandelure's movement and Klefki or Jellicent's that makes you disagree?

We're just going to use the in-game Sky Battle rules. This seems to be the best route.

Ok. Like I said, whatever you guys want to do I'll follow. I may make suggestions and talk about it, but I'll follow, haha. That's weird, though. Do they not have Gengar on there because he loses Levitate when he Mega-evolves? Seems like it would have been more accommodating to make his mega-stone unusable in sky battles. Maybe that's just a bunch of programming they didn't want to do, haha. And the basic stage ones are... too little? Sorry, I don't mean to seem like I'm bitching. A lot of the logistics of sky battling just present food for thought. Also, it looks like Duskull does exactly what I first thought was silly and becomes grounded by evolving, haha.

The in-game rules for Sky Battles do not make too much sense when it comes to usable Pokemon. And yes, Mega Gengar ruins it for regular Gengar.

Honestly the Sky Battle rules will only apply every once in a while. We'll have varying types of battles just to give a singular boss an edge over a party of players. This is just our first attempt at it.
