Harold adjusted his shirt, before impatiently checking his watch. Stygian and Leif would be waiting for him in Parsley Town.
"Attention," the PA of the train station began to recite its instructions for avoiding being killed by train. Harold had half a mind to throw the hunter in front of one, for making him wait so long.
Harold checked his watch again, glancing at the train ticket in his hand. That bastard had another 20 minutes, or else he was going to have to wait on his paycheck for a while.
He couldn't be overly annoyed, however. At least Olivia had been dealt with. It took balls to attack a gym leader.
Harold found a bench on his platform. He had told the hunter Platform 2. There was no reason to go searching for him. Besides, with Giulia's announcement incoming this morning, wandering had a chance to get him caught. Luckily, he was riding one of the early trains, and he had only seen one or two people board. Harold stared at his watch more. He would need to leave soon.

Alexander approached Harold's designated meeting place, Platform Two. A bit of nervous tension shot through him, but he managed to ignore it. This was about getting paid, and nothing got in the way of Alexander Midas and his money. He spotted Harold sitting on a bench, looking angry. Alexander grinned. Angry enemies made mistakes. He sat down next to Harold.
"Good morning, my friend. An excellent day for a paycheck, don't you think?"

Olivia smiled as she replaced the sunglasses covering her eyes. The hunter was playing his part perfectly, distracting the Harold long enough for Olivia to hop on board his train unnoticed. She didn't know what Harold needed to go to Parsley Town for, but she knew Harold's business would remain unfinished.
Olivia moved up the cars, heading for the first one. She pulled out her cell phone as she took a seat, and dialed X's number.
"Hey," she spoke quietly, even though the car was empty as of yet, "I'm in the front car."

X sat huddled against a pillar in the train station opposite the building from where Harold Commons sat on his bench. The crowds were as sparse as the rays of morning peaking through the station windows, but the few people walking around the open space of the platform took little to no notice of X. During the course of his life X had become used to this, and right now he was even counting on it. With no crowds, it was easy to keep track of Commons as he waited impatiently. X didn't even need to look at him, watching peripherally instead.
The situation was strange to X. He had dreamed for years of the day he may face this man. To be doing so this way seemed almost uncomfortably unceremonious. He had always envisioned glory and recognition while facing him across a stadium, not slumming behind him unnoticed. But things rarely turn out as expected and this was no exception. Reality is often surreal.
Midas approached Commons and sat down at the bench next to him. As he did, X saw Olivia's figure pass on the other side of the old man and board the train. Everything was in motion. His pocket began to vibrate and he retrieved the phone that Olivia had given him, turning towards the pillar and resting his head on the tile over it and his hand. "They're still outside the train." He spoke in a murmur hardly audible a few feet from him, let alone across the platform. "I'll board after they do and update you then."
X hung up, but kept the phone hidden where it was, hoping to appear as if he were resting his head until Commons looked away and he could safely return it to his pocket without suspicion. Until then, he continued to watch the bench out of the corner of his eye.

"I have $10,000 for you now," Harold fumbled with the cash. He hadn't really expected the hunter to make it this far south so quickly.
He handed Alexander the money, grimacing a bit. "There's another $10,000 for you if you help me now. I fear my friends and I will need back up in Parsley Town. Given your particular skills, a man like you might be useful on our little errand."
Harold patted Alexander on the back, motioning the man to join him on the train.
"Please, I already have a spare ticket," Harold smiled.

Alexander stood, pocketing the money. With a smile, he walked toward the train alongside the Elite Four Member.
"I'd be more than happy to help, Harold, though I must insist on a minor condition."
The two men boarded the train and took seats facing each other.
"I want 5000 up front. Anything that requires you and your friends' expertise as well as my own is obviously going to contain a large element of risk. I'd feel more comfortable if I had something up front in case things go south.

Olivia laughed as her Wartortle struggled into the front car. She had been waiting on Wake to signal that Harold had boarded the train.
"Did Alexander make it on too?" she asked her Pokemon.
"War," Wake nodded affirmatively.
Olivia leaned back. The front car was empty still. She could relax for a few minutes, until the train had left the station. As the whistle blew, and the automatic doors slid shut, Olivia smiled. The train lurched forward, making its way from the Pompash City Station. She hoped X had made it aboard ok. He was a resourceful kid. The only reason he wouldn't have made it was if he didn't want to. She rather hoped he'd stick around.
That's when Olivia realized it. She hadn't had this much fun since she was in Aqua. She rubbed the place where her tattoo was, thinking fondly back to her less than legal days.
It was time to make some new memories.

Midas and Commons stood and boarded the train together. X was surprised at this, as he had honestly expected Midas to leave with the money. It seemed as if he had been guided, though, and X wondered if he should be suspicious. If Commons suspected something, they could be walking into an unknown. Then again, X could just be overly wary as usual. It was how he had survived this long and it was a practice he had no intention of discarding. He laid his thoughts to rest by telling himself that worrying about it wouldn't make a difference. They were still trying to take down one of the elite four.
X rose, pocketed the phone and strode towards the nearest part of the train to him, making it through the doors of the rear car just before they slid shut.
"Hey! Get out of here! No free rides today!" The conductor had been standing in the back of the train to start his ticket check. X was sure the man had seen countless other transients and street rats try to slip in at the last moment. "Would you believe I'm here to deal with an emergency and you're all in terrible danger?" X smiled. The conductor, who had moved to block X in the doorway, didn't change expression. "Alright. I've got a ticket. Damn." He conceded as he fished in his pocket. The conductor looked the ticket over for what X was certain had been enough time to check at least 3 others before he grimaced and handed it back. "You better not have stolen that." "How do you know I didn't?"
He blinked at X, looked him over once, and then turned away as he rolled his eyes. The door to the next car slid shut behind him as he proceeded to check the rest of the train. "Don't say I didn't try to warn you." X shrugged and took a seat. Looking around, he noticed he was alone in the car. He took the phone out of his pocket and texted Olivia, "In back car. They're on board." then sat back and waited. Soon enough, the train lurched forward and they were on their way.

Harold readjusted himself, staring out the window at the massive volcano. Out the other window was the beautiful blue waters of the bay.
"You know, you're hardly in a position to demand, considering you're already on your way to the job," Harold was quick to smile. He didn't want to completely irritate the mercenary.
"I'll give you $2500 now. No more until the job is done," Harold pulled another bundle of cash from his chest pocket.

Alexander pocketed the money, satisfied. He had already received more money than he had expected and, if he played his cards right, he might be able to get the rest of whatever Harold had on him.
"It's always a pleasure doing business with you, Harold."
No matter Olivia did now, Alexander would be leaving happier and wealthier.

Olivia stood from her seat. The train had been moving for a few minutes now. There was no escape for Harold.
"Come on Wake," Olivia moved toward the sliding door of the train car, moving to the next. She raced down the car, but tripped as she walked past the only man sitting in the second car. Wrapped up in a brown coat and staring intently out the window, juggling a sucker in his mouth, he hardly seemed to mind, smiling as he offered Olivia a hand back up. Wake snickered behind her.
"Thanks," Olivia spoke quickly, before taking off again.
She made her way through several more cars, until she saw Alexander in the car ahead. Excellent. He even had the Elite Four member with his back turned to Olivia.
The Water-type gym leader looked ahead, searching for X in the windows to the other cars. As soon as he entered the car with Midas and Commons, they were a go.

X was relaxed in his seat. The train had been moving for a few minutes now. There was no word from Olivia.
He wasn't sure how long he should wait, but he finally figured that he probably wouldn't blow it if he showed up early and he probably would if he showed up too late. He rose and walked through the sliding door of the train car, moving to the next. He walked casually down the car, carefully scanning the seats ahead of him. He didn't want to go tripping into the situation unaware.
He made his way through several more cars until he saw Midas in the car ahead. Perfect. He even had the Elite Four member with his back turned to Olivia.
X continued ahead, his left hand searching for the desired pokemon on the back of his belt. As soon as he entered the car with Midas and Commons, they were a go.

The hair on Harold's neck stood on end. Alexander was surprisingly ok with taking the money. Usually people of his type asked for more.
Harold looked up a man stood in the doorway to the train car. Weird. Why didn't he just come in?
The man's eyes flashed forward. Harold looked at Alexander. The hunter looked like he was staring straight through his head.
A sinking feeling developed in Harold's chest. He turned around, and saw her. Olivia was in the doorway to the train car.
"You backstabbing little shit!" Harold roared as he stood up. Moments later, Cinccino sprang from his Pokeball, blasting Bullet Seeds in every direction.
A moment later, Kanghaskhan appeared.
"Get us out of here!" Harold ordered, as the Kangaskhan began to punch a hole in the ceiling of the train car.

Alexander remained seated, albeit ducking under the table in front of his to avoid the seeds everywhere. Gengar's eyes glowed at him from under the table, and Alexander rolled his eyes. He didn't want to help Olivia and X pacify Harold, so he'd wait here until they were done. Unless Harold did something stupid like try to get on the roof.

"Wake, stop him!" Olivia ordered immediately. The Kangaskhan had already ripped a small hole in the roof of the train.
The Wartortle moved forward, unleashing a spray of bubbles at the Kangaskhan. Kangaskhan shouldered the attack, as the bubbles turned to a blast of water. Everywhere water seeped forward, blasting trainers and Pokemon back alike. Olivia herself fell for a moment. When she stood up, she finally realized just how much worse things had become.
The Kangaskhan ripped into the growing hole, grabbing her trainer and shoving him out. The wind from the new portal to the outside whistled and roared with wind. Harold's expensive Lialtan leather shoes disappeared through the newly constructed exit, and Olivia looked to her companions. The Elite Four member would be pulling out his Noctowl soon, and she knew they had to stop him.
Wake, however, looked pleased with his destruction. Everyone had been soaked by his attacks.
