Appearance: Some say trainers look like their Pokemon, and Tang is no exception. His hard face and harder set eyes look much like his Hitmonlee. Some of the Gym frequents say they have never seen Master Lung smile or frown, only looking on them with mild interest. Preferring his white martial arts uniform, he can be seen doing daily miles around the area barefoot.
Personality:
Lung believes frivolous talk and gossip to be pointless, preferring to stay quiet. He abides strictly by his own martial mantra "Jeet-Kune-Do", teaching it to worthy trainers ans their Pokemon. He enjoys the silent company of his fighting Pokemon, communicating more through body language. He prefers to stay out of outside and regional conflicts, believing martial arts are a way of life only to be used in defense.
History:
Tang Lung was a sailor of only 14 on his father's ship out of Slateport, carrying spices to the Lialta region. Off the coast the ship ran into a storm, driving it into the reefs off Harena Town, dashing the vessel to pieces. Awaking the next day Tang's father was nowhere to be seen. In a strange land, not knowing the dialect Tang sought refuge in one of the many caves deep in the Atra Woods. There Tang met a wild Hitmonlee. The two became attached, neither having words to communicate with. To this day, Master Lung has never "caught" his first Pokemon and friend.
Living off the land, Tang slowly picked up the dialect learning about the ancient King Teucrus. He too was a stranger from a far away land, carving his way to "First King of the Lialtans" by creating and following a strict martial code. Inspired by this, Tang with the help of his Pokemon built the Harena Gym over five years.
